We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Analyst specialising in the Food and Beverage industry to join our team in Sofitel Brisbane Central. In this role, you will be responsible for analysing the income and expenditure across all areas of the hotel's Food and Beverage division. You will also deliver key insights from historical and current data to inform future strategies, with a focus on revenue growth, cost management, and overall profitability.
This is a fixed-term position through January 2026, with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate
- Analyse Food and Beverage Sales Mix daily for all outlets
- Fully analyse the Conference and Events profitability of the hotel and identify opportunities for improvement
- Prepare periodic reports to support assumptions
- Identify profit opportunities with equal attention to Revenues and Expenditure
- Build, articulate and present data sets by meal period based on consumption trends data
- Work with various tools provided to help Conference and Events team make informed pricing decisions
- Carry out desktop based competitor analysis
- Be prepared to undertake field study across different outlets of the hotel to better understand consumption and wastage levels
- Measure and analyse all complimentary food & beverage consumed within the hotel
- Work with Purchasing Manager and the operations teams in safeguarding and performing non-routine stock checks.
- Bachelor’s degree in or studying towards an Accounting or Finance qualification
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the food and beverage industry
- Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Formuals, VBA, Macros, Charts & Graphs)
- Ability to manage a large amount of financial data
- Skilled in Opera and Micros reporting and analytics, with strong experience in variance analysis, actionable insights, and advanced data analysis and visualisation
- Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) Sunsystems for report preparation
- Experience in Food and Beverage preferred - Especially with Billing or Financial or administrative duties
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage industry trends and financial metrics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Proven organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
