Job Description

About the Role – Facility & Quality Manager

As Facility & Quality Manager, you are responsible for safeguarding the overall quality, cleanliness, appearance, and sustainability of ibis Schiphol Amsterdam Airport.

As a member of the Hotel Management Team, you oversee one of the most visible and impactful areas within the hotel, ensuring that our 644 guest rooms, public areas, facility services, and sustainability initiatives consistently meet ibis brand standards and guest expectations.

The housekeeping operation is fully outsourced to an external partner. You are responsible for monitoring quality standards, operational performance, and service delivery. Supported by two Room Inspectors, you ensure that guest rooms are delivered on time and at the highest possible standard in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

In addition, you are responsible for linen management, guest and employee laundry services, facility-related suppliers, inventory management, budgeting, sustainability projects, and the overall appearance of the hotel, both inside and outside.

This unique leadership role combines quality assurance, housekeeping governance, supplier management, sustainability, and operational excellence within one of the largest ibis hotels in Europe.


Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality, cleanliness, presentation, and availability of all 644 guest rooms and public areas
  • Manage the daily relationship with the outsourced housekeeping provider
  • Lead and support two Room Inspectors responsible for room quality audits and inspections
  • Conduct daily quality inspections and review room reconciliation reports
  • Coordinate window cleaning, specialized cleaning, grounds maintenance, parking maintenance and waste management suppliers
  • Supervise the hotel in-house painter and coordinate refurbishment activities
  • Manage procurement and stock control of guest supplies, linen and cleaning products
  • Oversee linen management, guest laundry services, employee uniforms and laundry processes
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, monitor costs and take corrective action when required
  • Process and control invoices according to company procedures
  • Maintain daily communication with the Technical Department regarding hotel operations and improvement actions
  • Lead sustainability initiatives and coordinate Green Key, Essendi and Accor objectives
  • Manage Lost & Found procedures and administration
  • Actively contribute to the Hotel Management Team and hotel strategy

Additional Information

Your Profile

  • Proven leadership experience within hospitality, housekeeping, facility management, quality management, or hotel operations
  • Experience managing outsourced service providers and contractor relationships
  • Strong understanding of hotel quality standards and guest expectations
  • Experience managing budgets, inventories and operational performance
  • Passion for quality, sustainability and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
