Company Description

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside is a 4-star, 273-room hotel located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, in the heart of one of New Zealand’s busiest and most iconic tourist destinations.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Executive Housekeeper to lead our Housekeeping Department in this fast-paced operation.

This senior role is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest comfort, driving productivity, and leading and developing a diverse team.


Job Description

  • Lead, supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department.

  • Plan and allocate daily work according to occupancy, arrivals, departures and operational requirements.

  • Prepare and manage Housekeeping rosters, staffing levels and departmental resources.

  • Supervise Housekeeping team members and monitor productivity, attendance and performance.

  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house areas to ensure required cleanliness and presentation standards.

  • Manage room readiness and coordinate closely with Front Office and Maintenance.

  • Manage linen, cleaning supplies, guest amenities, equipment and departmental inventory.

  • Coordinate with external laundry providers, suppliers and contractors.

  • Respond professionally to guest feedback and Housekeeping-related complaints.

  • Manage departmental procedures, quality controls, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Assist with departmental budgeting, labour cost management and expenditure control.

  • Support recruitment, induction, training, coaching and development of Housekeeping team members.

  • Promote a safe, positive and inclusive working environment.

  • Ensure Housekeeping operations comply with hotel policies, Accor standards and New Zealand health and safety requirements.

  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as per the business requirement. 


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in hotel housekeeping or hotel service operations, including supervisory or management experience.

  • Experience supervising and coordinating a diverse team in a busy hotel environment.

  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, room inspections, work allocation and quality control.

  • Experience with rostering, staffing and workforce planning.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest service.

  • Ability to manage departmental resources, inventory and operating costs.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems (e.g Opera cloud).

  • Pay Rate Salary NZD $78000 - $80000 per annum
