Job Description

Responsible for:

  • Ensuring promptness, freshness, and quality of dishes.
  • Coordinating cooks' tasks.
  • Implementing hygiene policies and examining equipment for cleanliness.
  • Designing new recipes, planning menus, and selecting plate presentations.
  • Reviewing staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives.
  • Hiring and training kitchen staff, such as cooks, food preparation workers, and dishwashers.
  • Performing administrative tasks, taking stock of food and equipment supplies, and doing purchase orders.
  • Setting and monitoring performance standards for staff.
  • Obtaining feedback on food and service quality, and handling guest problems and complaints.

Job purpose:

  • Oversees the daily operations of restaurant and hotel kitchens. This may include hiring, training, and overseeing kitchen staff, and ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective product. Also known a chef manager or head chef.

Key accountabilities:

  • Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities.
  • Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards.
  • Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs.
  • Supervise kitchen staff's activities.
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
  • Recruit and manage kitchen staff.

 


Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role, with a successful track record in driving growth, achieving operational and commercial excellence, and delivering financial results.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the capability to anticipate and proactively manage challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and leading diverse teams.
  • Unwavering integrity, with a commitment to ethical practices and sound corporate governance.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a drive for innovation and a readiness to take calculated risks
  • 10 Years Experience in the same role is required
