Ennismore, with its luxury brand SLS Hotels, is currently undertaking a magnificent all-inclusive project in the oasis that is Playa Mujeres, just north of Cancun, Mexico.  SLS Playa Mujeres Cancun, All-Inclusive Collection is planned to open November 2024.

Introducing the newest gem of dazzling luxury to reach Cancun’s Playa Mujeres area: our all-inclusive hotel offers 500 luxurious keys, complemented by an impressive array of 18 distinct Food & Beverage outlets and a rejuvenating spa sanctuary. Catering to both adults seeking a getaway and families craving connection and some adventure, this hotel brings a wonderland of extraordinary experiences to Cancun, providing an array of amenities and activities tailored for travelers of all ages.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Entertainment & VIBE Director to join our amazing opening team for SLS Playa Mujeres Cancun, All-Inclusive Collection.  This role will lead all of the service activities in the Entertainment department of the resort, always aiming for the highest possible guest satisfaction.  Under the guidance of the General Manager and within the limits of the established SLS and All-Inclusive Operational Standards, the responsibilities of this role are to provide efficient, personalized, courteous and punctual service and technical skill.

What you'll do...

  • Develop, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate a variety of community services and entertainment programs, including special events and contract services.
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing entertainment services; identify resource needs.
  • Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures; participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Prepare community event and entertainment publicity; coordinate referral systems and the publication of seasonal brochures; coordinate the dissemination of entertainment and community service publicity.
  • Identify community needs and recommend appropriate programs related to area of assignment.
  • Prepare periodic reports; maintain files and records.
  • Conduct and supervise special events; develop contracts and hire contracted instructors.
  • Maintain and design the online entertainment registration program.
  • Serve as liaison on various community related committees and subcommittees as assigned.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions; order supplies and materials.
  • Participate in the selection of part-time entertainment team; provide or coordinate training; work with team members to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.
  • Participate in the preparation and administration of the entertainment program budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.
  • Respond to complaints and requests for information.

Qualifications

About you...

  • Experience in a similar leadership role for 3+ years.  Preferably in a luxury and/or lifestyle hospitality setting.
  • You are proactive and use good judgement when dealing with challenging situations.
  • You with professionalism and integrity; you are humble and leave your ego at the door.
  • You are transparent in your motives, methods and expected results
  • You own your mistakes and share your knowledge to prevent a repetition of the same error within your department or division
  • You conduct business honestly & fairly
  • You are a steady leader, training and developing your team, keeping their work environment safe at all times and motivating them along the way.
  • You work well autonomously as well as on a team.
  • You have a commitment to quality and can deliver exceptional financial results.
  • You can communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in both English and Spanish.
