Job Description

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for keeping things running smoothly? The William Inglis Hotel is looking for a Part-Time Duty Technician to join our team and assist with the day-to-day maintenance of our beautiful hotel. We’re open to being flexible with hours for the right candidate – whether you’re an experienced tradesperson, looking for part-time work, or simply someone who enjoys using your skills to keep things in top shape, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the maintenance of the building, plant, equipment, fixtures, and fittings.

  • Conduct daily plant rounds and report or repair equipment as needed.

  • Carry out maintenance tasks as scheduled, including mechanical and water systems.

  • Record and track maintenance tasks, repairs, and preventative schedules.

  • Liaise with supervisors, contractors, and other team members to ensure areas are operational and safe.

  • Support workplace health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe environment for guests and colleagues.


Qualifications

  • Experience in building maintenance, engineering, or construction.

  • Trade qualifications are highly desirable but not essential.

  • Experience with hand tools and basic mechanical/electrical systems.

  • Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or hospitality setting is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

  • Good written and spoken English.
