Company Description

We are looking for a Director of Spa to join the re-opening of the famed Delano Miami Beach.

Set to open its doors in 2025, Delano Miami Beach will fuse historic charm with contemporary luxury, reflecting a reimagined experience that pays homage to the original visionary concept. Comprising 170 rooms and distinct food and beverage concepts, the hotel will preserve its iconic walk-in pool and, in addition, unveil a new pool on an amenity deck, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Delano Miami Beach will act as the brand’s flagship location, re-establishing Delano as a trailblazer in luxury lifestyle hospitality.  Ennismore, in partnership with Cain International (the owners of Delano Miami Beach as well as partner in the Delano brand), are currently undertaking a significant renovation and redevelopment of the iconic Delano hotel with an aim to open its doors again ahead of the 2025 winter high season.

As Director of Spa, you will be responsible for the full scope of spa operations, supporting and driving the overall success of the spa through leadership in marketing, programming, guest satisfaction, team development, and commercial performance. You will shape the spa’s vision, ensure high standards, and lead a passionate team in delivering an exceptional guest experience.


Job Description

What you'll do... 

  • Oversee and manage all day-to-day spa operations to meet business objectives.
  • Develop long-term strategies, performance benchmarks, and standards to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract top talent across therapists, technicians, and front desk staff.  Recruit, train, develop, and lead the spa team to deliver high performance and guest satisfaction.
  • Promote teamwork and a collaborative environment, placing emphasis on service excellence.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and motivation to team members, setting clear expectations and goals.
  • Participate in hotel leadership meetings and cross-department collaboration.
  • Create and manage staff schedules aligned with business demands, special events, and operational priorities.
  • Ensure all team members are trained to the highest standard.
  • Promote and sell spa services and treatments to maximize revenue.
  • Monitor individual retail performance, provide coaching and incentives to drive sales.
  • In collaborations with other key departments, plan and execute spa promotions and seasonal packages, evaluating success and ROI.
  • Maintain effective stock and cost control systems, including ordering, inventory management, and rotation.
  • Monitor treatment scheduling to optimize guest demand and revenue.   Track and report on key performance indicators and treatment trends.
  • Monitor and control payroll and operating expenses to achieve profitability targets.
  • Handle guest feedback, inquiries, and complaints with a focus on swift, professional resolution.
  • Oversee VIP, PR, and media visits; ensure consistent brand representation and elevated guest care.
  • Maintain a visible presence in guest areas, fostering strong relationships and personalized experiences.
  • Collaborate with hotel departments to ensure seamless guest journeys.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel and health & safety standards.
  • Train all new employees on hygiene and safety procedures as part of their onboarding.
  • Conduct regular inspections to uphold spa cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Participates in Fire Safety and Loss Prevention programs.
  • Ensure preparation of required reports, including (but not limited to) Wage Progress, payroll, revenue, team member schedules, quarterly actions plans.
  • Oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.
  • We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. We will on occasion call for everyone on the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional service. 

Qualifications

What we're looking for...

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in spa, hotel or a related industry leadership role, preferably in an luxury brand hotel.
  • Previous Spa opening experience preferred
  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values.
  • You’re a strong team leader, a natural at managing and inspiring others in a way that gets the best out of them.
  • You combine analytical and methodical thinking with high attention to detail and a solution-focused approach.
  • You’re a great communicator – both verbally and written – and a great listener. Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.
  • A proficient understanding of Computer systems such as: Opera, Hotsos, Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook, point of sale systems, booking systems.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail. You prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation.
  • You have a passion for hospitality, you inspire an enthusiastic guest-centered approach.
  • You can turn any situation around into a positive experience for all, guests and team alike.
  • You think big and encourage your team to believe.
  • You are a natural at leading and managing others, and you lead by example, creating an environment where your team can be their best self.
