We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Food & Beverage to oversee all F&B operations at our prestigious hotel in Accra. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, maximizing revenue, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and service across our diverse restaurant, bars, events & conferencing facilities.
Keys to Success & Responsibilities:
- Conceptualization & Development
- Lead the creation and execution of new coffee shop and cafe concepts, aligning with market trends and guest expectations.
- Marketing & Brand Positioning
- Develop strategic marketing initiatives to position F&B outlets effectively in the competitive Bangkok market.
- Vendor & Supplier Relations
- Leverage strong industry connections to source the best products and negotiate optimal terms.
- Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth execution, quality control, and financial success.
- Creative Leadership
- Work from the ground up to build unique F&B offerings that reflect Movenpick's quality and innovation.
- Local Expertise
- Utilize knowledge of the Thai market, local consumer behavior, and industry regulations.
- Barista & Italian Coffee Knowledge
- Apply expertise in specialty coffee, barista techniques, and Italian coffee culture to develop standout offerings.
- Inspire your team to deliver exceptional service and create memorable dining experiences.
- Develop and implement innovative F&B concepts that drive revenue and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Ensure smooth and efficient operations across all F&B outlets, maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene.
- Manage budgets effectively, optimize costs, and maximize profitability.
- Cultivate a culture that prioritizes personalized service and exceeds guest expectations.
What you'll do...
- Establish, monitor, and manage budgeted revenue and net operating income. Assures that the budgeting process is performed accurately and efficiently.
- Develop and implement action items and provide support and guidance in each restaurant/bar/outlet to achieve or exceed budgeted revenue and net operating income goals.
- Ensure that labor and expense guidelines are adhered to maintain budgeted expenses.
- Institute and monitor service and/or product upgrades to maintain the hotel’s competitive edge.
- Supervise and provide leadership to all Food and Beverage team members.
- Select, train and develop all personnel within the department. Able to exercise hire, discipline, personnel performance reviews and termination of employment discretion within Delano policies.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) like health and safety procedures, training programs, etc.
- Promote guest satisfaction throughout the operation and implement repeat guest recognition programs to build loyalty to the operation. Act as a liaison between the community and the Food and Beverage operation.
- Re-establish the venues in an independent spirit locally in the community.
- Maintain a high-level path to achieving brand goals.
- Consult with all hotel departments and specifically the General Manager on a weekly basis to ensure smooth and successful operations.
- Monitor industry trends, take appropriate action to maintain competitive and profitable operations. Initiate menu planning and preparation with the Executive Chef as needed.
- Liaise with head office team on brand standards, growing brand trends, and concept direction. Work seamlessly with brand partners and corporate partnerships.
- Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Organize and conduct department meetings on a regular basis.
- Participate in long-range planning. Lead, support and make recommendations for ongoing hotel programs with continuous improvement in networking.
- Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations and all other Food and Beverage related life/safety and other legal compliance in accordance with federal and local laws.
- Ensure preparation of required reports, including (but not limited to) Wage Progress, payroll, revenue, team member schedules, quarterly actions plans.
- Oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.
Your skills and qualifications include:
- Proven experience in F&B leadership, with a strong background in coffee shop/cafe concept development.
- Strong marketing acumen and ability to drive revenue growth through creative strategies.
- Established relationships with key vendors and suppliers in Thailand.
- Ability to lead teams, inspire creativity, and execute projects from inception to launch.
- Financial acumen and business strategy expertise - strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve operational challenges effectively.
- Up-to-date knowledge of F&B trends, best practices, and regulations.
- Fluency in Thai and English; knowledge of Italian coffee culture is a plus.
