Reporting to the Product Design team under the responsibility of the Design System Lead, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the design system within the e-commerce tribe: vision, design, creation, documentation, and maintenance of a library used by numerous product teams. The Design System Manager maintains constant watch to stay at the forefront of rapidly evolving technology. They not only keep up with industry trends in development frameworks but also anticipate what the near future will bring. A strong taste for clean interfaces and a passion for outstanding user experiences are essential.
Your missions:
- Drive the vision of a design system covering visual style, UI components, and other design-related topics
- Provide feedback to designers and suggest trade-offs
- Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions
- Ensure the development and consistent integration of effective components across the entire product portfolio
- Explain the system’s mission, library, and processes to Product Managers, content specialists, QA, designers, and development teams across the DBF
- Identify, monitor, and report on system usage
- Ensure the expansion of the design system’s scope and identify relevant products to adopt it
- Manage the backlog and roadmap of library elements
- Continuously maintain and update the system
- Build the Design System vision, guidelines, and OKRs with the team
- Co-build OKRs and roadmaps with Design and Product teams
- Ensure Content Designers are aligned with and understand their product visions and objectives
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Tech leads to break down silos
- Identify and discuss cross-functional synergies

- Minimum 5 years of experience (post-graduation & internships/apprenticeships) as a Design System Manager with several significant experiences, and a degree from a top Engineering or Business School, Computer Science background, or specialized Master’s in Design
- Experience on similar challenges for B2C platforms
- Proven long-term collaboration with PM/PO and developers within agile squads
- Experience designing consumer and B2B applications across desktop, web, and mobile
- Experience as a front-end developer building modern JavaScript-based web applications or as a digital art director
- Expertise in HTML, CSS/LESS/SCSS, JavaScript, and responsive design
- Experience in mobile development using native or web-to-native tools and frameworks
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular, etc.
- Good understanding of agile methodologies
- Ideally experienced as a developer within a cross-functional agile team
- Ideally experienced as a designer within a cross-functional agile team
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts and align the organization on decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply
- Ability to collaborate effectively within teams to create innovative solutions
