Conference & Events Coordinator

The Mercure Townsville is a leading corporate and leisure conference, weddings, and events venue in the North Queensland region. Comprised of 7 fully functional board rooms and ball rooms as well as an enclosed deck, ample lawns, and outside function space. The Mercure Townsville is on the hunt for a creative and energetic administration expert to support our Sales team. Your strong administration skills and precise eye to detail will ensure the smooth running of our Conference and Events department.
- Assist in the maintenance of our conference database of key contacts/clients
- Assist in the preparation and follow up of conference proposals
- Actively listen to clients and understand their needs
- Assist with the formulation of quotations for conference proposals covering venue, function, menu and accommodation costs
- Coordination and production of conference collateral material
- Collaborate with multiple hotel departments for each events’ success
- Superior time management and organisational skills, including ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and methodical organisational skills
- Initiative to seek solutions strategically where problems exist
- Service driven
- A creative flair to assist with design of conference collateral
- Working knowledge Opera computer system (desirable)
- Sound computer skills in the Microsoft Computer Suite
