The position is based in Accor's flagship Canberra hotel, Novotel Canberra conveniently based in the city centre opposite the light rail. We are a 286-room hotel with 8 conferencing and event facilities hosting all events from Corporate groups to sports teams.


Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor performance of Conference Vision (or its equivalent) in line with agreed targets
  • Monitor competitors within region and provide recommendations on changes to current sell strategies.
  • Provide detailed conference and events proposals covering venue, function, menu and accommodation costs ensuring revenue is maximised.
  • Coordinate and host familiarisation and site inspection activity including follow-up.
  • Drive sales to ensure conversion targets are achieved and monitor success on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in coordinating sales forecasts and provide suggestions on strategies to achieve targets

Qualifications

Your Experience and Skills Include: 

  • Experienced event coordinator with a proven track record in a team environment.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and professional conference organisers (PCOs).
  • Committed to delivering outstanding events and customer experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, sales, and communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, including proficiency in events software.
  • Unlimited work rights in Australia.
