Job Description

As a Commis Pastry Chef, you will support the Pastry Kitchen in delivering consistently high-quality products across breakfast service and beyond. This role requires early morning availability, flexibility across shift work, and a strong commitment to teamwork, quality, and continuous learning.


Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of pastry items for buffet and à la carte service

  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness

  • Follow recipes and instructions with precision and attention to detail

  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

  • Ensure timely production to meet service requirements, particularly for early breakfast shifts

About You:

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a pastry kitchen

  • Availability and willingness to work early morning shifts commencing from 5:00 AM, as well as flexibility to cover a variety of shifts as required

  • Genuine passion for pastry and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work efficiently within a team environment

  • Positive attitude, reliability, and eagerness to learn and grow

  • Certificate III or IV in Patisserie (or equivalent trade qualification)

  • Valid working rights in Australia
