We are conveniently located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, right opposite Southern Cross Station with easy access to public transport. Along with 190 guest rooms, we offer our guests and visitors a restaurant and lounge bar and a fully equipped conference centre with multiple function spaces.
We are looking for a casual Commis Chef to assist our kitchen operations during busy periods, across breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts as well as conferences and events. Experience in a hotel or similar environment, working rights in Australia, and flexibility to pick up shifts at short notice are required. If you are motivated, enthusiastic, and have the drive to develop your skills, we would love to hear from you!

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Food preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, functions and buffet service.
- Ensure all food is produced in line with kitchen recipes and standards
- Assist and communicate with chef on duty as required
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment whilst ensuring a product of high quality and presentation standards.
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage and follow stock control procedures
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with front-of-house staff

- Must have Australian working rights and flexibility to work varied shifts Monday to Sunday as required
- Relevant trade qualification
- Ability to work as part of a small team and to prioritise and plan tasks
- Strong communication and time management skills
Commitment to hygiene, safety standards, and food handling regulations
