Job Description

We’re looking for a full-time Chef de Partie with a strong a la carte background to join our kitchen team. In this role, you’ll create exceptional dishes, contribute to innovative menu development and oversee daily kitchen operations, all while ensuring our guests enjoy an outstanding dining experience. You’ll mentor junior team members, uphold the highest food safety standards and help keep the kitchen running efficiently in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

You must have full working rights in Australia to be considered for interview. We offer the Hospitality Industry General Award base rate of $32.13 per hour plus applicable penalty rates.

Your role will include:

  • Assist with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service
  • Apply diverse cooking techniques to consistently deliver exceptional dishes
  • Ensure exceptional food standards, from preparation to presentation
  • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen that meets all food safety standards
  • Monitor and control food waste, stock levels, and kitchen resource
  • Lead and mentor junior staff, and provide guidance, training and support
  • Assist the Head Chef to lead the kitchen team and promote a positive working culture where every person is valued 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong a la carte experience with a proven ability to deliver high-quality dishes
  • A comprehensive understanding of food trends, sustainability, and seasonal produce
  • Relevant trade qualification (minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent)
  • 3 to 5+ years of commercial kitchen experience, including post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a busy, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience guiding and supervising a team
  • Ability to supervise the kitchen operation on behalf of the Head Chef
  • Availability to work breakfast, lunch and dinner service across a rotating 7-day roster
