    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY

    Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chef de Partie will be an important supervisor of the kitchen team. Overseeing the day to day operation for their designated kitchen area.

    • Overseeing their designated kitchen area in the absence of kitchen management.
    • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive service to all our guest and colleagues.
    • Ensure the consistency in the preparation and execution of all food items according to the hotel recipes and standards. Ensue we are producing and serving the best possible product to our guests and colleagues.
    • Ensure all colleagues are aware and follow the hotels recipes and standards.
    • Oversee food quality and execution off all hot & cold food and beverages served in the staff cafeteria. 
    • Have full knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and allergies.
    • Makes menu and recipe recommendations for future menu development for all areas, to ensure all offerings are current and on top of food trends.
    • Assist and support other kitchen areas and fellow colleagues as needed.
    • Input orders through Birchstreet system to ensure proper food levels and foodcost are maintained.
    • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards and ensures all colleagues are following kitchen policies, procedures and service standards.
    • Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed and has the knowledge and tools to work safely.
    • Maintain awareness of, and ensuring compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and procedures (as outlined by the EHC manual) are followed at all times.
    • Completes all EHC temperature records, honestly and correctly (as outlined by the EHC manual).
    • Cleaning of kitchen equipment including line fridges.
    • Maintain awareness of, and ensuring compliance with all sustainability and food waste reduction/diversion policies, procedures and programs at the hotel.
    • Promoting teamwork between the kitchen and all other departments, especially food and beverage service colleagues & leaders.
    • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to all hotel colleagues & leaders.
    • Demonstrated a high level of responsibility and accountability
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 4 years of kitchen experience, preferably in Hotel operation
    • Minimum 1 year experience in Banquets/Events kitchen
    • Red Seal certification or equivalent required.
    • Food Safe certification required
    • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume Kitchen
    • Awareness of new trends in presentation and preparation of food
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills
    • Comfortable working with guests in a public areas
    • Energetic, self-motivated, out-going, team-player
