Job Description

Reporting Line
The Capacity Control - Revenue Manager reports directly to the VP Capacity Control - Revenue Manager at Orient Express Trains & Cruises.

Location
Paris.

Mission
Implementing the pricing and distribution strategy, in accordance with the brand's recommendations and specific requirements for trains; and driving business performance as the company is set to open sales.

Role and responsibilities

  • Using a range of data sources; report on daily, weekly, and monthly performance to the commercial team, senior management but also external stakeholders.
  • Assessing strategies to ensure changing market demand, or any supply constraint is reflected. Communicate business trends and recommendations to management.
  • Develop and implement a pricing and distribution strategy daily, in accordance with the brand's recommendations and specific requirements for trains.
  • Optimizing pricing strategies through the definition and management of all rates, rate levels, terms and conditions, and other tactics to reflect demand and other market conditions.
  • Working with Sales and Reservations Teams to encourage strategic selection of the right pieces of business.
  • Ensuring Inventory and Revenue Management systems are configured and updated regularly to continuously deliver an accurate demand forecast.
  • Be involved in cross-departmental data initiatives and any projects related to revenue growth
  • Owning reservation and competition data: accountable for data quality and efficient usage.

Qualifications

Knowledge and experiences

  • Bachelor's degree (and preferably a Master’s degree) in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (a relevant combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • Proven track record of success in driving Revenue Management activities and achieving targets within the transportation/hospitality/luxury industry, preferably with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience.
  • Additional Revenue Management-related certifications or specialized training will be highly valued.
  • Fluent in English, French, and Italian is a plus.
  • Excellent data & analytical skills with the ability to make timely decisions
  • Strong commercial acumen, and an understanding of commercial drivers and how they relate to revenue decisions.
  • Ability to manage and manipulate large data sets and sources.
  • Required skills for the role: Microsoft Office, worked with RMS/inventory system, database understanding.
  • Desirable: Inventory, RM systems, as well as Tableau software knowledge.

  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams to drive revenue initiatives and ensure alignment of strategies.
