Job Description

As Breakfast Chef de Rang at Sofitel London St James, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional breakfast experience that reflects our French art de vivre and five-star luxury standards. You will oversee a designated section of the restaurant, ensuring attentive and personalised service. Following the breakfast period, you will support the smooth transition into lunch or afternoon tea service, contributing to a seamless and elegant dining experience throughout your shift.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Welcome and attend to guests with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.

  • Ensure smooth and timely service within your section during the breakfast period.

  • Maintain a high standard of mise-en-place and cleanliness before, during, and after service.

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the breakfast menu, including dietary options and allergen information.

  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen and service teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Handle guest requests and feedback promptly, ensuring any issues are communicated to management.

  • Upsell menu items and provide recommendations to enhance the guest experience.

  • After the breakfast service, assist the team with preparation and service of lunch or afternoon tea as required.

  • Support the overall team with resetting the restaurant and transitioning between service periods.

  • Guide and support junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with company and legal regulations.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant.

  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, particularly breakfast and afternoon tea.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for hospitality.

  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

  • High attention to detail, with a proactive and guest-focused approach.

  • A team player with a flexible attitude and willingness to support across different service periods.

  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

  • Right to work in the UK.
