Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team in Kooddoo, Maldives. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in overseeing daily restaurant operations, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and supporting the Restaurant Manager in driving our establishment's success.   • Assist the Restaurant Manager in supervising daily operations and ensuring smooth, efficient service delivery
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor staff to maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service
  • Manage inventory, coordinate orders, and implement cost control measures to optimize profitability and minimize waste
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints with empathy and professionalism, resolving issues promptly and transparently
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment
  • Participate actively in menu planning, development, and implementation of new culinary initiatives
  • Assist in staff scheduling, onboarding, training programs, and performance evaluations to build a strong team
  • Step in for the Restaurant Manager when necessary, demonstrating confident leadership and decisive decision-making
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to ensure timely, quality food preparation and service
  • Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and operational metrics to identify trends and suggest strategic improvements
  • Foster an inclusive, positive, and collaborative work culture that values each team member's contributions
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality products and competitive pricing
  • Customize service experiences based on guest preferences and cultural considerations, particularly for our diverse international clientele

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in restaurant management, supervisory, or assistant management role within the food service industry
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Solid understanding of inventory management, cost control, and budget analysis
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities with a collaborative approach
  • Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous
  • Proficiency in time management and organizational skills
  • Food Safety Certification (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • Knowledge of international cuisine, dining customs, and cultural sensitivity, particularly relevant to Maldivian hospitality standards
  • Familiarity with local food safety regulations and health department requirements
  • Experience in staff scheduling, training program development, and performance management
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and adapt to seasonal variations in the hospitality industry
  • Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a tropical island environment with unique operational challenges
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and implement data-driven improvements
