Job Description

Providing engaging, sincere, personalized service is one of the ways our Front Office Colleagues are turning moments into memories for our guests at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Showcase your interpersonal strengths as Assistant Director of Front Office, where you will lead, train and recognize your team in support of exceptional guest service!


What is in it for you:
Reporting to the Director of Front Office, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist the Director of Front Office in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed
  • Lead the department in the absence of the Director of Front Office
  • Provides managerial support for Reception, Royal Service, and Guest Services in the daily operational duties for these areas
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of all Front Office colleagues in accordance to productivity guidelines
  • Maximize rooms revenue through participating in yield management meetings and implementing agreed upon Revenue Management strategies and practices
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings
  • Assist in preparation annual budgets and forecasts and administer in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Oversee group business, reviewing and ensuring details of group resumes are met
  • Oversee the selection, training and development of all Colleagues to ensure timely recruitment and career growth
  • Liaise with Finance department to ensure credit procedures are properly carried out
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Salary Range: $79,000-$105,000 USD Gross Annually

Your experience and skills include:

  • Service focused personality is essential and previous leadership experience required
  • Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
  • Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset
  • Fluency in English
  • Must have the ability to handle a multitude of tasks and Guest requests
  • Knowledge of Opera Property Management System an asset
  • Should possess or seek certification in basic first aid
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
  • Experience with a Hotel loyalty program an asset
  • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

  • Seated computer work, including constant keyboarding and mousing
  • Occasional lifting up to 25lbs
