Assistant Bar Manager

We are in the luxury hotel business in central Singapore; offering business and leisure travelers contemporary rooms and suites filled with opulent amenities and elegant furnishings, alongside first-rate facilities, exquisite French and local cuisines in our all-day dining restaurant, bar and a huge convention space with meeting rooms and 2 ballrooms to cater to corporate, meeting guests as well as leisure function events including weddings & dinner & dances.   We represent the renowned French living and Sofitel hospitality in Singapore.

• Attend and actively participate in weekly Food and Beverage meetings respecting the confidentiality of issues which may be discussed formally or informally.
• Assist the Restaurant & Bar Manager in managing the service of food and beverage within the lounge bar.
• Manage the beverage and labour cost within budget.
• Ensure the beverage stocktaking is done in a correct and efficient manner towards the end of month.
• Ensure cleaning and maintenance of outlets, work areas, tableware, utensils and other materials and equipment used by restaurant / bar and room service;
• Regular liaison with Engineering, ensuring that maintenance requests are completed quickly focusing on guest needs as a priority.
• Coordinate between the lounge bar and other relevant departments to ensure that preparations for lounge bar operations have been made.
• Assist in the preparation monthly lounge bar reports, commenting on key performance indicators and action taken to keep on target.
• Management and guidance of outlet ambassadors.
• Any other such duties that may from time to time be assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage.
• Adherence to Emergency Communication procedures ensuring that enquiries from the media are only responded to by the nominated spokesperson.
• Strive to implement the Sofitel Vision and demonstrate active use of Sofitel Values.
• Be knowledgeable of and operate within appropriate outlet and hotel liquor licensing guidelines and House Management Policies.
• Maintain currency of RSA certification, amendments and updates and adhere to RSA principles.

• Minimum 2 years’experience in a similar role, preferably including 5 star experience.
• Projects professionalimage at all times through personal presentation / interpersonal skills.
• Desire and ability totrain and develop staff.
• Maintains awareness of industrytrends in service, product and presentation.
• Initiates contacts andestablishes rapport easily.
• Organises time and workefficiently.
