Job Description
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Reservations Agent to join our team in Sofitel Brisbane Central. As a Reservations Agent, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our guests by managing bookings, answering inquiries, and ensuring a smooth reservation process.
What you will be doing:
- Handle all reservation requests using effective listening and communication skills to secure necessary information
- Provide detailed information about hotel services, facilities, room rates, and availability
- Process bookings, modifications, and cancellations efficiently using the reservation system
- Work as a team to achieve set monthly KPIs
- Upsell room types and additional services to maximise revenue
- Take a positive problem solving approach with guest complaints and enquiries in an efficient and professional manner
- Maintain accurate records of reservations, deposits, and guest information
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction
- Stay updated on hotel policies, promotions, and pricing strategies
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring room availability
- Contribute to achieving departmental goals for average rate and occupancy.
Qualifications
You will excel in this role if you have:
- Minimum of one year experience as a Reservations Agent or Receptionist in a 5-star or luxury hotel
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in hotel reservation systems
- Opera or strong PMS experience is required
- Excellent customer service orientation with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of the Brisbane area and local attractions (preferred)
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
