Job Description

Reporting directly to the Director, Finance & Business Support, the IT Manager is primarily responsible for the implementation, management and troubleshooting of all IT-related issues. This encompasses a wide range of tasks, from setting up systems to resolving day-to-day technical problems, and troubleshooting all issues related to both the guests of the hotel as well as the hotel employees. This role will be heavily involved in the initial setup and deployment of all IT infrastructure and systems necessary for the hotel to begin operations.  

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Lead and manage the hotel’s day-to-day IT activity ensuring all standards are followed
  • Comply with the company’s IT Security Policy as it pertains to hardware, software, security/data safety
  • Ensure proper backup of all business related, user relevant data
  • Assist with the annual IT budget for the hotel and administer that budget in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Support the hotel’s stand-alone systems, including but not limited to, systems connected to the Network, point of sales systems, all related interfaces, file server, UPS related devices
  • Selecting and installing hardware and software, setting up network infrastructure (wired and wireless
  • Configure guest-facing technologies.
  • Provide twenty-four hour support for mission critical systems as documented in the service escalation document.
  • Liaise with software and hardware vendors on a regular basis to remain current with technology changes and to suggest improvements or enhancements to hotel management
  • Ensure that the usage and installation of software is in accordance with the software licensing laws
  • Manage and monitor the operation of all computer hardware, ensure all systems are working and installed properly, and serve as the primary contact for servicing the computer hardware.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all computer hardware.
  • Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety policies

 


Qualifications

  • University/College degree in a related discipline required
  • Minimum 2 years previous systems technology experience as a leader in hotel or similar role
  • Microsoft Certified System Engineer (preferred)
  • Understanding of networks, ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems
  • Understanding of hotel operations/applications is an asset
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Self starter with a strong sense of commitment
  • Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail
  • Team player with high energy levels
