We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Chief Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Istanbul, Türkiye. In this pivotal role, you will support the Chief Engineer in overseeing all aspects of our facility's maintenance, safety, and operational excellence. You will lead a skilled engineering team, manage critical building systems, and ensure that our operations meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. • Oversee daily engineering operations to ensure the safety, functionality, and optimal performance of all building systems and guest facilities
• Lead and mentor the Engineering and Maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and adherence to safety protocols
• Coordinate and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
• Champion and manage the organization's fire safety program, ensuring full compliance with local Turkish regulations and international safety standards
• Organize and conduct technical and safety training sessions for engineering staff, promoting safe work practices and regulatory compliance
• Develop and implement energy conservation and resource efficiency initiatives to support organizational sustainability goals
• Troubleshoot and oversee maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs
• Analyze maintenance data and prepare detailed reports to identify trends, optimize operations, and support strategic decision-making
• Ensure transparent communication with senior management regarding operational challenges, maintenance schedules, and capital improvement needs
• Support the Chief Engineer in budget planning and cost management for engineering operations

**Required Qualifications:**

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in hotel, hospitality, or commercial building services management, OR minimum 5 years of experience in a Duty Engineer position
• Junior College graduate diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
• Demonstrated expertise in HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical systems
• Proficiency in water treatment, hydraulics, and building mechanics
• Strong knowledge of fire safety programs and local regulatory compliance requirements
• Proven experience in team leadership, training, and performance management
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisive decisions under pressure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Turkish is highly valued
• Comprehensive understanding of energy conservation practices and sustainability initiatives
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance planning and execution

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Professional certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, or facilities management
• Experience with building management systems (BMS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Project management experience and budget oversight capabilities
• Knowledge of Turkish building codes and local regulatory standards
• Experience in a luxury hospitality or high-end commercial environment
• Vendor and contractor coordination experience
• Technical documentation and report writing proficiency
