Job Description

We are looking for a Full-Time Handyperson to join our Engineering team and help keep our 5-star hotel running smoothly behind the scenes. If you have a trade background in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning or general maintenance, this could be the perfect opportunity. You’ll work mostly indoors with a small friendly team that takes pride in their work.

Here’s your chance to put your hands-on trade skills to good use in a clean air-conditioned environment where you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring the safety, comfort and satisfaction of our guests through efficient maintenance of our building and facilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Complete routine and preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public spaces
  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of facility-related issues including air-conditioning, plumbing, fittings and general wear and tear
  • Respond promptly to restore out-of-service rooms and support the smooth running of essential building services
  • Assist in system checks and minor servicing of plant and equipment
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering team and liaise with external specialists as needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in hands-on repair or maintenance roles with exposure to systems involving water, air-conditioning or general infrastructure
  • Comfortable using tools and fault-finding techniques to address facility-related concerns
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to technical tasks
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Physically fit, reliable and capable of working independently or within a team
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, weekends and public holidays
