Reporting to the Assistant Director, Finance, the Accounting Generalist will be responsible for ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner in Accor’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability for the Fairmont Chicago. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Main focus of responsibilities: General Cashier duties
- Daily recording of entertainment and promotion accounts
- Daily support of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assist with the reconciliation and payment of third party checks
- Maintain stationary level and reorder as required
- Ensure vendor files are up to date
- Answer guest calls for billing discrepancies; folio requests
- Provide office administration duties as required
- Follow departmental policies and procedures
- Follow all safety policies
- Other duties as assigned

- Previous office administration or accounting experience preferred
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications or relevant computer applications required
- University/College degree in a related discipline an asset

- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position:
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Frequent sitting throughout shift
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Compensation: Subject to experience and qualifications, salary range $27.00 to $30.00 per hour.
Visa Requirements: Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
