Be part of something BIG! Novotel Devonport is currently seeking a Valet Attendant to join its Front Office team!

Overlooking the Mersey River, the Novotel Devonport boasts an unrivalled waterfront location, unique design, outstanding service, and an exciting F&B concept. 

We are looking for a part-time Valet Attendant who will assist the Front Desk of the hotel and be responsible welcoming guests, carrying luggage, parking and retrieval of guest cars, escorting guests to their rooms, explaining the facilities of the hotel, providing tourism information and dining/entertainment recommendations to our guests.


Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles
  • Managing pick up times for vehicles to ensure they are onsite for early departures
  • Be the first point of contact and greet guests with a warm welcome every time
  • Check the daily arrival list for VIP's or guests with special needs.
  • Ensure collection and delivery of guest luggage, mail, messages and equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Guide guests to their room and assist with their luggage.
  • Ensure the efficient delivery and collection of group luggage.
  • Be present at the Concierge/Reception desk or in the lobby to be ready to assist guests, colleagues and visitors when requested.
  • Ensure the lobby/foyer area, including entry/exit doors, remain clean and presentable at all times. Conduct regular checks.
  • Book tours and sightseeing activities where required.
  • Ensure all logs are completed for receipt and outgoing parcels, mail etc.
  • All complaints to be handled promptly and efficiently. Advise the Supervisor / Assistant Manager / Manager on Duty of any issues and outcomes.
  • Assist with room shows for guests as requested by Front Office team members.
  • Respond to guest requests and queries providing a knowledgeable, efficient and helpful information service

Qualifications

  • An energetic, team-focused and can-do attitude
  • Enthusiasm to connect with guests and to hear their story
  • Have a genuine love of Devonport and a desire to share your knowledge with our guests
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Be reliable, well-groomed and have excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work across a 7-day roster - evenings, mornings and weekends
  • Full Tasmanian Manual Drivers Licence is essential
