Student Work Experience Opportunities (SWEP)

If you are talented, motivated and enrolled in a Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary or Hotel & Restaurant Management program, our Spring/Summer 2026 student positions are your opportunity to relate your classroom study to the day-to-day operations of Canada’s most breathtaking resorts. 

Fairmont Chateau Whistler is now recruiting for the following student opportunities to start in Spring/Summer 2026: 

• Housekeeping - Room Attendant
• Third Cook
• Stewarding Attendant (Kitchen Dishwasher)
• Golf Operations / Turf Care 
• Server Assistant
• Host
• Banquets / In-Room Dining Server
• Barista / Deli Attendant
• Reservations & Royal Service Agent
• Guest Services Attendant

Successful applicants will be matched to available positions based on previous relevant work experience, area of studies, and the hotel’s operational requirements. For this opportunity you must be currently enrolled in a Hospitality, Tourism, Recreation, Turf Care, Golf Operations or Culinary program.

Starting Pay Rates: Ranging from $18.10 - $22.95 per hour, depending on the position

You must be currently enrolled in a Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary, Golf/Turf Management or Hotel & Restaurant Management diploma or degree course, looking for a Co-Op semester in Summer 2026.

Food & Beverage Positions:

• Must have BC Serving It Right certification 
• Previous Food & Beverage experience preferred 

Culinary Division Positions:

• Currently enrolled in a Culinary program
• Previous experience as a cook an asset 
• Must be able to lift, carry and pull up to 50lbs

Housekeeping / Stewarding Division Positions: 

• Previous similar experience an asset
• Must be physically fit and able to stand and walk throughout shift and lift, carry and pull up to 50+lbs.

Rooms Division Positions:

• Previous front office / reservations / call center experience preferred  
• Previous Property Manager (Opera) experience an asset 

Golf Operations / Turf Care Positions:

• Currently enrolled in a Golf Operations / Turf Care Management program 
• Previous similar experience an asset 
• Must be physically fit and able to stand and walk throughout shift and lift, carry and pull up to 50+lbs.
