Company Description

As a Dining Room Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards throughout the Hotel & Employee Housing. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor, evaluate, and improve quality processes, ensuring that the highest level of service excellence is consistently delivered to our Employees. By implementing quality assurance initiatives, analyzing data, and collaborating with department heads, you will contribute to the overall success and reputation of the hotel & it's staff.


Job Description

  • Oversee daily operations of the staff dining rooms, ensuring smooth service.
  • Manage, train, and schedule dining room staff, including servers and bussers.
  • Conduct regular briefings and meetings to maintain communication with the team.
  • Ensure staff adheres to company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure that the dining room is set up properly before each meal service.
  • Monitor and manage the flow of service, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are functioning properly and coordinate repairs as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food service.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring it meets company standards.
  • Address any dietary needs or special requests from staff members.
  • Manage inventory levels of dining room supplies, including food, beverages, and cleaning products.
  • Ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Monitor budget adherence and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
  • Handle staff inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
  • Foster a positive and welcoming dining environment for all employees.
  • Ensure staff dining experiences meet or exceed expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service management or a related supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and budget control.
  • Experience in a staff dining or cafeteria setting.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly responsible & reliable

Physical Aspects of Position: 

Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:           

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Exposure to a fast-paced, high-volume food service environment.
