Job Description

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in assisting the Director of Finance with maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, upholding internal controls, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and safeguarding assets for owners and investors. This position focuses on financial reporting, month-end closing, general ledger reconciliation, and cash management. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a strong accounting foundation, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to meeting deadlines in a collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete month-end closing tasks, including reconciliations, adjustments, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Conduct daily income audits.
  • Update daily revenue reports for both internal distribution.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve financial and operational reporting issues.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and supporting schedules for audits and year-end processes.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and control accounts, managing subsidiary ledgers.

Qualifications

Staff Accountant Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a staff accountant or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting systems.
  • Experience with Hotel PMS Opera is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the accounting cycle and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication.
  • Flexibility to work long hours, especially at month-end and year-end.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize functions to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including anticipating, identifying, and resolving issues.
  • Ability to analyze complex information from various sources to meet objectives.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Initiative to anticipate operational or guest needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
