Job Description

About the Role:
Cucina, the renowned Italian dining destination at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, is seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our award-winning culinary team. As Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in delivering authentic, high-quality Italian cuisine with a modern touch, ensuring a memorable gastronomic experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in leading daily kitchen operations for Cucina.

  • Supervise food preparation and execution, maintaining the highest culinary standards.

  • Contribute to menu development, showcasing innovation and respect for Italian culinary traditions.

  • Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, promoting a positive and professional work environment.

  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.

  • Monitor kitchen inventory, food costs, and ordering in collaboration with the Head Chef.

  • Support in organizing special culinary events, wine dinners, and seasonal promotions.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a luxury or upscale Italian restaurant.

  • Strong foundation in Italian cuisine – from fresh pasta to classic regional dishes.

  • Strong Western Cuisine, modern and elevated presentation.

  • Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about high-quality ingredients and presentation.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

  • Culinary degree or professional chef certification is preferred.
