Shift Duty Engineer

We are looking for a Shift Duty Engineer to join the pre-opening of SLS The Red Sea.

Ennismore, with its luxury brand SLS Hotels, is currently opening a magnificent project in the oasis that is The Red Sea. SLS The Red Sea is planned to open in 2025.

Job Overview:
As a Shift Duty Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all mechanical and electrical systems within the hotel. This includes the heating and cooling systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, lighting, and any other systems that may be in place. Your primary duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on all equipment, as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within the hotel rooms and public areas. Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following the hotel’s standard operating procedures.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly and efficiently to any maintenance calls that arise either by the guest or other departments. Provide immediate assistance to guests and other operating departments as needed.
- System Monitoring: Monitor and operate electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and water systems. Ensure the continuous generation of heat, light, power, ventilation, air-conditioning, steam, and water supply in the entire hotel and its premises.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health regulations, and safety standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the maintenance team, as well as with hotel management and staff to ensure that any problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and safety checks.
- Guest Interaction: Respond courteously to guest requests promptly and resolve matters to the guest’s satisfaction. Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.

Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Shift Duty Engineer or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Skills:
  - Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  - Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment.
  - Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  - Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.

Preferred Skills:
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks.
