Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Sales Manager - Government to lead our government sector sales initiatives in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this pivotal role, you will drive revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans targeting government agencies and institutions. You will lead a high-performing sales team, manage key government accounts, and establish strong relationships with government stakeholders. This position requires a decisive, visionary leader who can navigate the complexities of government procurement while maintaining a customer-focused approach and motivating teams to exceed sales targets.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to penetrate and expand the government sector market in Indonesia
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a sales team, setting performance expectations and conducting regular performance reviews
  • Identify, pursue, and close high-value government contracts and opportunities
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, decision-makers, and key stakeholders
  • Manage and forecast sales pipelines, ensuring accurate reporting and visibility into deal progression
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with government clients while ensuring compliance with procurement regulations
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities within the government sector
  • Develop customized solutions and proposals that address government client needs and requirements
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and implement corrective actions to achieve or exceed revenue targets
  • Collaborate with internal teams including product, delivery, and finance to ensure successful contract fulfillment
  • Represent the organization at government industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Maintain detailed records of all government accounts and sales activities using CRM software

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of proven sales experience in the government sector, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated expertise in B2B sales and strategic account management
  • In-depth knowledge of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of the Indonesian government sector and procurement landscape
  • Proven track record of successfully closing large government contracts and managing complex sales cycles
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams
  • Proficiency with CRM software and sales analytics tools
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast sales, manage pipelines, and analyze performance metrics
  • Experience managing sales budgets and P&L responsibility
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with government stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Preferred: Experience with government contracts, compliance frameworks, and multi-stakeholder management
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Indonesian government agencies and their procurement procedures
