Job Summary

The Sales Manager – Celebrations is responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition, development, and management of social events and celebration business segments, including weddings, pre-wedding functions, engagement ceremonies, anniversaries, milestone celebrations, luxury social gatherings, and bespoke private events at Fairmont Mumbai.

This role is instrumental in positioning Fairmont Mumbai as the preferred luxury destination for extraordinary celebrations by delivering personalized experiences, building strong client relationships, and maximizing revenue opportunities while upholding Fairmont’s standards of luxury hospitality and service excellence.

What You Will Be Doing

Celebration Sales Development

  • Proactively identify, qualify, and convert new celebration and social event opportunities.
  • Generate revenue through weddings, engagement ceremonies, receptions, anniversaries, milestone celebrations, and other luxury social events.
  • Develop customized event proposals and packages tailored to client requirements.
  • Conduct venue presentations, site inspections, and client consultations to showcase the hotel's event spaces and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure timely conversion of enquiries into confirmed business.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and actively pursue opportunities to achieve revenue targets.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, wedding planners, event organizers, influencers, and luxury lifestyle partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process, ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Understand client preferences and curate personalized celebration experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, proposals, contracts, and follow-ups.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery that encourages repeat business and referrals.

Market Development & Brand Representation

  • Position Fairmont Mumbai as a leading luxury destination for weddings and celebrations.
  • Develop relationships with wedding planners, luxury event agencies, designers, decorators, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Participate in wedding exhibitions, luxury showcases, networking events, and industry functions.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging celebration concepts.
  • Promote Fairmont’s unique venues, culinary offerings, accommodation experiences, and personalized event services.

Commercial & Revenue Management

  • Achieve and exceed assigned revenue targets and conversion goals.
  • Maximize banquet, guest room, catering, and ancillary revenue opportunities associated with celebration events.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management and Events teams to optimize pricing and profitability.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, production reports, and business performance analyses.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling hotel services and experiences.

Event Coordination & Guest Experience

  • Work closely with the Events, Banquets, Culinary, Front Office, and Operations teams to ensure flawless event execution.
  • Participate in event handover meetings and ensure all client requirements are clearly communicated.
  • Support VIP and high-profile celebration events to ensure service excellence.
  • Resolve client concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure every celebration reflects Fairmont’s luxury standards and creates memorable guest experiences.

Brand Standards & Compliance

  • Uphold Fairmont brand standards, values, and service culture in all client interactions.
  • Ensure all contracts, proposals, and communications comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling high-profile clients and events.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and responsible business practices where applicable.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in luxury hotel sales, weddings, celebrations, catering sales, or event sales.
  • Proven track record in achieving revenue targets and managing high-value social events.
  • Strong understanding of luxury hospitality, wedding trends, and celebration markets.
  • Experience working with luxury hotels or premium event venues preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems.
