Job Description

 

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance                              

Inspired and Supported by: Director of Finance & Business Services           

 

Your purpose will be:

The Savoy Hotel is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, in addition to understanding of hospitality operations.

 

You will be accountable for:

  • Ownership Reporting – P&L, Cashflow and other adhoc requests
  • Lender Reporting – Covenant reporting
  • Statutory reporting – Working with external accountants if required
  • Year end audit requirements – lead liaison with external auditors
  • Internal audit –self-assessment and ensuring compliance with requirements
  • Finance Lead for Renovation
  • Support Director of Finance on adhoc analysis for Ownership
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and consolidation
  • Overall controller for CAPEX  / FF&E
  • Manage key relationships and processes for the ongoing capital projects
  • Review, update and maintain fixed asset register
  • Key part of the finance team for the budgeting process
  • Key finance person responsible for leases and other 3rd party arrangements
  • Review all Standard Operating Procedures and roll out training across the hotel
  • Maintain insurance records and track ongoing claims
  • Review, update and maintain inter-company account schedules
  • Support Director of Finance in Adhoc project requests

 


Qualifications

What you will need to do in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • ACA,  CIMA or ACCA certification
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting
  • Strong understanding of hospitality accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with Opera, SUN, Silverware and other common hotel software is desirable.
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
