Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team in ibis Styles Mysuru, India. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and security of our premises, employees, and visitors. As a Security Officer, you will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and decisive action in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through proactive security measures, thorough incident management, and collaborative teamwork with our organization's broader security and operations teams.
- Patrol and monitor assigned areas of the premises to identify and prevent security threats, ensuring the protection of all assets and personnel
- Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations with appropriate action and documentation
- Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches, thefts, or suspicious activities, and prepare detailed incident and accident reports
- Monitor surveillance systems, access points, and security equipment to maintain continuous awareness of building security status
- Assist employees and visitors with security-related inquiries and concerns, providing courteous and professional support
- Perform regular inspections of safety equipment, fire systems, alarm systems, and building entry points to ensure optimal functionality
- Maintain accurate and organized records of security activities, shift logs, and incident documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary, ensuring seamless coordination during critical situations
- Conduct basic office duties including camera monitoring, activity logging, and communication with security personnel
- Remain alert and observant during all shifts, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending security improvements
Qualifications
- Prior security experience or background in a related field (preferred)
- Valid work authorization to work in India
- Valid Driver's License
- Security certification or professional security training (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and best practices
- Excellent observation and surveillance skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and composed during emergency situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and patrol premises
- Proficiency in incident reporting and documentation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a security team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to pass a background check and security clearance process
- Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and professional demeanor
