Job Description
The Security Officer will ensure security procedures and protocols are followed and verify that tasks assigned to security colleagues are completed correctly during their respective shifts. Their duties will include, but are not limited to;
- Provide guidance and support to security officers through coaching and counselling to maintain professional standards
- Report and prevent criminal activity on hotel property whilst maintaining a visible security presence.
- Conduct regular security patrols and inspections throughout the hotel premises to identify potential vulnerabilities and security risks.
- Monitor and respond to CCTV systems and security equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, taking appropriate action to protect guests, staff, and property
- Maintain detailed and accurate incident reports and documentation in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary, providing relevant information and co-operating fully with investigations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations across all areas of the hotel
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior security staff to develop their skills and maintain consistent service standards
- Conduct access control procedures and manage visitor check-in processes to maintain secure premises.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by Management.
Qualifications
- High School Education with a minimum of 3 CXC certificates
- At least 3 years previous experience in Security or related field required
- Valid Security Officer Licence or equivalent professional security qualification
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment)
- Demonstrated experience in security supervision or team leadership
- Knowledge of CCTV systems, access control, and security equipment operation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to produce detailed and accurate incident reports and documentation
- Physical fitness and ability to perform regular patrols and respond to emergencies
- Experience working in hospitality or hotel security environments
- Training in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
- Knowledge of health, safety, and security regulations and compliance standards
- Experience liaising with law enforcement and emergency services
