Sales Manager – The Hoxton, Lloyd Amsterdam

Region

Luxury & Lifestyle

Company Description

We are looking for a Sales Manager Corporate & MICE to join us at The Hoxton, Lloyd Amsterdam. Reporting to our Director of Sales you will be responsible for driving revenue growth within the corporate and meetings & events segments, building lasting client relationships and positioning The Hoxton as the preferred venue for corporate stays, meetings, and events.

A city so good we had to double down! In 2023 we have opened our second Hoxton in Amsterdam, this time based in the Eastern Docklands where we are lovingly taken the reins of the historic former Lloyd Hotel. This beautiful property features 136 bedrooms, including the introduction of some new rooms categories for the Hox, a large ground floor restaurant and huge outdoor terrace, a new bar and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept.

More about us…

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

What’s in it for you…

  • Become part of a team that’s very passionate about creating great hospitality experiences.
  • Competitive salary.
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and pension.
  • Food on us during your shift.
  • Enjoy a free night at The Hoxton and a meal for two when you first start with us.
  • Training to get you settled into your role with ongoing development that helps you think, make and thrive to set you up for success at work.
  • Time off to volunteer with one of our partner charities.
  • Hox Hero and Nifty fifty, our rewards for going the extra mile and living our values.
  • An annual diversity and inclusion calendar of events creating opportunities for you to learn, celebrate and make a positive impact.
  • Regular team get togethers, from our High Fives to our (pretty special!) team parties – we know how to have a good time!
  • The chance to challenge the norm and work in an environment that is both creative and rewarding.
  • It’s ok not to be ok, we offer access to OpenUp, a trusted platform for professional support and a network of mental health first aiders.
  • Pedal like a local - Enjoy a Swapfiets membership with a discount: repairs and maintenance included.
  • Stay active your way with a discounted Urban Sports Club membership, supporting your overall wellbeing and balance.
  • Join an innovative, fast-growing, international group that is shaking things up on the hospitality scene.
  • Excellent discounts across The Hoxton and the global Ennismore family.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • Proactively hunt for new business and manage corporate and MICE accounts, both local and international, building relationships that last.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan that smashes revenue targets and keeps our rooms and event spaces buzzing.
  • Get out there – conduct sales calls, client meetings, and show off our spaces with site inspections that leave people wanting more.
  • Prepare killer proposals and contracts, and negotiate rates that work for everyone while staying true to our guidelines.
  • Drive new business prospecting activities across the corporate segment - research and identify
  • opportunities for new corporate business in line with our budget.
  • Be our face at trade shows, networking events, and industry gatherings – spread the Hox love far and wide.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Revenue, Marketing, and Operations teams to spot opportunities and make the magic happen.
  • Keep our CRM system up to date and provide sales forecasts and reports that help us stay on top of our game.
  • Work together with our Meetings & Events team to optimize MICE potential and revenue on corporate accounts.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by keeping your finger on the pulse of market trends and what the competition is up to.

Qualifications

What we're looking for...

  • Individuals. You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits here.
  • Passion for hospitality – whether that’s a drink, a meal, an event or a bed for the night.
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
  • You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get things done.
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
  • If we got stuck in a lift together, we’d have a good time and share a few laughs.
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
  • At least 2 years’ experience within a proactive sales environment in Amsterdam.
  • Strong knowledge of the corporate and MICE market – if you know the Amsterdam region, even better.
  • Keen to take ownership and work proactively; you don’t have to be told what to do but want to take a lead role as part of a small team.
  • You’re looking to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment where success often relies on being able to flex and change.
  • You’re a wiz at the Microsoft office suite; if you’ve used Opera, Lanyon and other RFP tools before that would be an advantage.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills in English (Dutch is a bonus).
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with networking skills that open doors.
  • You can work independently but thrive when collaborating with the team.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and commercially driven, you know how to make the numbers work.
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and above all has fun with it along the way.
