Job Description

The Runner is responsible for supporting the restaurant service team in ensuring smooth daily operations while maintaining the high standards of excellence and luxury expected at a Fairmont 5-star property.

This role contributes to delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests through attention to detail, outstanding service, and a strong commitment to quality and presentation standards.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the waitstaff with table setup and preparation, ensuring all items are clean, organized, and properly arranged.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately while following the hotel’s presentation and service standards.
  • Anticipate guests’ and team members’ needs to ensure a seamless and efficient dining experience.
  • Replenish and maintain service stations, including cutlery, glassware, and other operational supplies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of service areas while complying with hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Assist with the organization, storage, and maintenance of restaurant equipment and tableware.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently to support smooth restaurant operations.
  • Provide support during special events and hotel activities as required.
  • Comply with all Fairmont policies, operational procedures, and quality standards.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive attitude with strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Requirements

  • Basic training or studies in Hospitality and Restaurant Management.
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in a similar role, preferably within luxury hotels or high-end restaurants.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English; additional languages will be considered an asset.
  • Professional appearance and grooming in line with luxury hospitality standards.
  • Valid Food Handling Certification.
