Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to lead our operations in Chennai, India. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take full ownership of restaurant operations, drive exceptional guest experiences, and build a high-performing team. As Restaurant Manager, you'll be the driving force behind our establishment's success, balancing operational excellence with genuine hospitality and strategic business growth.

  • Lead all aspects of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house coordination, ensuring seamless service delivery during all shifts
  • Set the tone for exceptional guest experiences through warm, polished service standards and a commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Manage and develop a diverse team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and mutual respect
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff members, identifying high-potential team members and creating clear career development pathways
  • Oversee budget management, P&L responsibility, and financial controls to drive profitability and operational efficiency
  • Implement and maintain food safety, hygiene, and health standards in compliance with local regulations
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to optimize costs without compromising quality
  • Analyze performance metrics, guest feedback, and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members, ensuring alignment with company values and service standards
  • Handle customer concerns and complaints with empathy and decisiveness, turning challenges into opportunities to build loyalty
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue, enhance guest retention, and strengthen the restaurant's market position
  • Maintain transparent communication with senior leadership, providing regular updates on performance, challenges, and opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or management role within a high-volume, quality-driven restaurant or hospitality environment
  • Strong background in evening, late-night, and full-service restaurant operations
  • Demonstrated expertise in budget management, P&L analysis, and financial controls
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities with a genuine passion for developing and motivating staff
  • Proficiency with restaurant management systems, POS systems, and inventory management software
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and health regulations
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
  • Current food safety certification or willingness to obtain (as per local requirements in Chennai, India)
  • Preferred: Experience in strategic planning, business development, and revenue optimization
  • Preferred: Background in staff recruitment, hiring, and performance management
  • Preferred: Experience in a luxury or fine-dining establishment
