Job Description

Your knowledge of the hotel and the technical skill you display when responding to Guest telephone calls will prove you truly are a Fairmont professional. As a Reservation Coordinator, effective and engaging communication is the key when speaking to fellow Colleagues and Guests.

Reporting to the Director of Reservations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Book and enter room reservation requests using the Opera Central Reservations System and Property Management System
  • Ensure revenue is maximized by up-selling guest rooms and recommending hotel facilities
  • Update reservations ensuring a flawless check-in and check-out process
  • Offer dedicated support to the Sales & Marketing team
  • Meet and exceed personal and team revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis as applicable
  • Answer incoming reservation calls in a timely manner
  • Respond to leads sent from into common reservation inbox
  • Follow up with clients through Lead System in TRACK
  • Reply to reservation e-mails and double check accuracy of reservation/notes created
  • Input Comp Room nights through CUDA forms
  • Handle and distribute faxes, voice messages and written messages for external Guests
  • Have a sufficient working knowledge of all departments, in particular Housekeeping, Front Office and Engineering
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Liaise with Sales and other departments as required
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous room reservation sales experience an asset
  • Must possess outstanding guest services skills and sophisticated verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

  • Frequent sitting throughout shift
  • Occasional standing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
