Job Description

The Public Areas Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all public-use, transit, and work areas of the hotel are maintained in optimal condition at all times. Public areas, for both internal and external guests, are the first and most important reflection of the hotel’s image and must therefore consistently present a high standard of cleanliness and order.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres at all times to Fairmont’s quality and service standards, consistently representing the values of the brand and the company.

  • Acts as a role model in conduct and teamwork within the hotel team, and demonstrates leadership toward their teams by maintaining a positive and proactive attitude, leading by example.

  • Maintains an excellent and courteous attitude toward guests, respecting their privacy and adapting to their needs at all times.

  • Is responsible for coordinating and supervising the teams under their direction, ensuring that work plans are carried out efficiently.

  • Stays informed daily about all events, restaurant operational volumes, group bookings, and any other hotel situations that may affect or impact daily operations.

  • Ensures that the daily tasks of their team are strictly completed and reports any incidents.

  • Ensures that materials and products required for the hotel’s upkeep are used properly according to established work standards.

  • Maintains direct contact with the Maintenance Department to report and resolve any issues detected within the property, using the designated IT systems.

  • Assists in coordinating preventive cleaning tasks.

  • Provides support to team members in daily tasks whenever and wherever necessary.

  • Assists in training new members of the Housekeeping team.

  • Inspects public area storage rooms and internal areas, ensuring they are properly stocked and functional, and especially that at the end of each shift they are organized and ready for the following day.

  • Manages inventory for their area in coordination with their direct supervisors, assisting with orders and replenishment when necessary.

  • Manages and reports any lost and found items located in the areas under their responsibility, following established procedures.

  • Is trained to recognize any pest-related incidents and knows how to proceed accordingly.

  • Has thorough knowledge of the hotel’s infrastructure, as well as the services offered and their schedules, and provides this information to guests.

  • In general, performs other tasks assigned by the Housekeeping management team or by Hotel Management.


Qualifications

  • Compulsory Secondary Education

  • Category B Driver’s License

  • Previous experience in hotels in the same position is preferred.

  • Languages: Conversational level of English required; knowledge of other languages is considered an asset.

 

Candidate must be a citizen of the European Union or possess a valid work permit for Spain.
