    Job Description

    Part Time Stores Person

    • Receive and deliver to the assigned department the food, beverage, stationary, first aid stock and other purchases, ordered to the hotel.
    • Ordering of food, beverage, stationary, first aid stock and other purchases through a computer application based procurement system to maintain par levels.
    • Issuing goods from storerooms to food & beverage outlets, kitchen, and other departments by using a standard computerized requisition system.
    • Assist in receiving all goods, verifying quantity received with quantity ordered
    • Organize inventory into storage locations on a first-in-first-out basis.
    • Ensure all inventory is secured.
    • Participate in conducting and verifying the accuracy of monthly physical inventories.
    • Assist in preparing items for shipment for the hotel and hotel guests
    • Ensure storerooms are kept clean
    • Responsible for ensuring that all deliveries of WHMIS controlled products are accompanied by updated SDS sheets and the Hotel Master Binder is up to date.
    • Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and programs
    • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all hotel colleagues

    Qualifications

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Must have basic knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
    • Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy is required
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Previous experience in a hotel environment an asset
    • Experience working with Birch Street or a similar procurement system an asset
    •  Physically capable of performing duties which involve repetitive bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying of heavy objects (over 30kg)
    • Working in a walk-in freezer and cooler    for extended time periods
    • Operating a computer and answering phones while sitting
    • Sweeping and mopping floors
    • Pushing and pulling of four wheeled platform carts
    • Operation of pallet jack (electrical and manual)
