    Job Description

    Part Time Bell Person

    The Bellperson will represent Fairmont Palliser by providing excellent guest service and will achieve this by having a complete knowledge of all aspects of the position.  The Bellperson will conduct themselves in accordance with the core operating standards of Fairmont Brand.  This position will be of interest to those who will quickly make a difference to service levels by demonstrating a relentless desire to exceed guest expectations.

    • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service.
    • Adhere to Front Office policies, procedures, and service standards.
    • Escort guests to their rooms and provide room orientation.
    • Maintain a welcoming presence in the lobby or on the curbside when assigned to the valet shift, offering assistance to guests and opening doors as needed.
    • Provide informative and anticipatory assistance to guests regarding hotel facilities and the City of Calgary.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel lobby and the front entrance and curbside of the hotel.
    • Ensure a high awareness of security at all times.
    • Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies to ensure the well-being of guests and colleagues.
    • Be aware of all functions that are taking place in the hotel and to direct guests to the correct destination
    • Deliver luggage, messages, newspapers, and other items promptly and efficiently.
    • Organize taxis and catch-a-ride suppliers for in-house guests and patrons. 
    • Direct guests to their destinations within the hotel and stay informed about ongoing functions as well as to off-site destinations like restaurants, shopping malls or conference center. 
    • Assist with overall traffic and parking control at the hotel entrance as required.
    • Ensure proper parking of guests' vehicles, including notifying guests of any damages before issuing valet tickets. 
    • Follow the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies when driving guest vehicles.
    • Provide curb-side check-in at designated areas following Front Office policies and procedures.  
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Will be working night shifts
    • Knowledge of hotel services and Calgary an asset
    • Current First Aid and CPR preferred
    • Must provide a Drivers Abstract and Class 5 Driver’s License, and have the ability to drive standard transmission
    • Previous Guest Services experience preferred
    • Must be in excellent physical condition and able to lift very heavy items up to 50lbs.
    • Post Secondary education in hospitality an asset
    • MUST have a passion for the delivery of OUTSTANDING guest service
