Job Description

As our Overnight Porter, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring our hotel runs smoothly after hours. You’ll be the calm and capable presence that keeps our property pristine, assists guests with late-night requests, and supports our overnight operations with efficiency and discretion. 

  • Provide correct and accurate information in response to all enquires.
  • Assist with guest luggage, deliveries when required.
  • Ensure that you are aware of the daily activities via Daily Round-up, Opera and diary.
  • To be aware of all ongoing matters within the Hotel and any special events those are planned.
  • Be aware of all daily VIP’s.
  • Follow and implement all departmental procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and checklists.
  • Support the Night Audit and Security teams with general duties, including safety checks and lock-up procedures.
  • Conduct regular patrols of hotel areas to ensure guest comfort and security.
  • Liaise closely with the Front Office, Guest relations, Reservations, the Bell Captain and Valet to ensure guests arrivals, departures and queries are handled courteously and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate the “Passion for Excellence” through serving our guests with flair and professionalism, ensuring that their requests are quickly and efficiently achieved.
  • Ensure all guests are provided with personalised service and that the “Essence of Pleasure” is achieved.
  • Embody the art of French hospitality through a “can do” attitude.
  • Perform tasks within a timely manner.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of Sofitel Brand Standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel or guest service role preferred, ideally within a luxury or 5-star environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during overnight hours.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Always display a professional appearance, representing our Sofitel brand. 
  • Valid Australian Driver's License is essential.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
