Job Description

As a Pastry Cook at Fairmont Chateau Whistler, you will be a key member of our culinary team, and work seamlessly with the wider food and beverage team to ensure excellent products for our guests!

Starting Rate of Pay:

Pastry Third Cook: $21.75 per hour
Pastry Second Cook: $23.05 per hour
Pastry First Cook: $24.90 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation - hourly rates increase after 6 months and then yearly to three years.

    Job Duties Include:

    • Prepare, cook and service all food items for a la carte, buffet menus, and individual dishes
    • Organize and manage buffets and banquets, manage kitchen operations
    • Have full knowledge of all menu’s items, daily features and promotions
    • Ensure proper labeling, dating and storage of all items in the kitchen
    • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
    • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and handle guest allergy concerns with appropriate care and importance

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience in the culinary field required
    • Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent an asset
    • Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline required

    Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
