Company Description

The Outlet Sales Manager, reporting to the Director of F&B, will establish a community relationship with local concierges, corporate businesses, destination management companies, and local clientele that support the food and beverage outlets at the Fairmont Pacific Rim.  This position will also conduct site inspections, travel to solicit and visit prospective and current clientele, develop business leads and solicit, promote, and sell the hotel outlets to meet the budgeted revenue goals. Working with the Sales & Marketing department, the successful individual will also assist in developing and implementing a marketing business plan for each outlet.

What you will be doing:

  • Utilize, optimize and grow the existing client base to pursue and cultivate prospective accounts.
  • Develop and maintain key account listings.
  • Generate profitable and logistically sound bookings to create strong business relationships and ultimately generate repeat business.
  • Responsible for increasing the food and beverage through direct sales efforts, follow-up, solicitation (by phone and in person), and proper sales administration.
  • Solicit new and existing accounts with the objective to generate new revenue to meet/exceed goals
  • Solicit local social and corporate event business through execution of actions outlined in the Departmental Marketing Plan for Food & Beverage and through established solicitation practices 
  • Develop new markets for Food & Beverage outlets through the cultivation of relationships with key clients within the community 
  • Solicit existing account base to generate additional bookings 
  • Respond to all inquiries regarding private event space availability in a professional and timely manner
  • Negotiate prices, prepare accurate quotes and then confirm by written contracts 
  • Site inspections of outlet space with potential clients
  • Collaborate with Restaurant GMs to ensure that each outlet’s vision and goals are achieved 
  • Oversee the smooth execution of private events
  • Ensure open communication and event details with all operating departments 
  • Build partnerships with the operations team to ensure service standards are maintained
  • Resolve guest complaints when necessary
  • Conduct pre and post event meetings with groups to plan and address strengths and weaknesses of an event while soliciting repeat business
  • Maintain long lasting relationships with current and potential clients
  • Develop and implement F&B Venues Loyalty Program with coordination of Outlets GM’s
  • Actively participate in industry related organizations and events to promote and represent the food & beverage outlets within the community 
  • Assist in developing new business ideas to promote existing business within all potential market segments
  • Active participation in Departmental meetings, team building efforts and other like activities
  • Attend Catering/Banquet/Kitchen meetings to ensure perfection in service delivery
  • Efficiently use Opera to track, solicit, book, produce event orders, and follow up on accounts
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required, including month-end reports – log and track all daily activities 
  • Produce event orders for outlet events, and any additional administrative duties required
  • Cross training opportunities with Executive Meetings Sales Manager 
  • Maintain high quality of service standards required by the hotel and by the company
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Hospitality Management Degree or a Post Secondary Degree desired
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Sales Manager in a luxury hotel
  • Extensive Food and Beverage knowledge
  • Knowledge of event procedures and terminology
  • Extensive knowledge of Opera, Word and Windows based programs
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven leadership skills, which include coaching and motivational skills
  • Problem solving & decision making skills; analytical and detail oriented
  • High energy with exceptional organization and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills; service oriented and a team player
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment
  • Must possess a strong sense of exceeding in providing quality service to our internal and external customers
  • Assertive, self-starter, self-motivator with a high degree of professionalism
