Job Description

An exceptional opportunity presents itself for a Night In-Room Dining waiter to join the Food & Beverage Department at Raffles London at the OWO.

Reporting into In-Room Dining Manager, you will be responsible for preparing orders, set trays and delivering items to guest rooms in an attentive and efficient manner, assist with Mini bar , amenities and ensuring to provide excellent quality service as per the Hotel Standard Operating Procedure.

Additionally responsible for maintaining cleanliness at work and guest areas by clearing, collecting, and returning food and beverage items to proper area. Also serve food courses and beverages to guests.

 

Specifically, as the Night In-Room Dining Waiter, your responsibility’s will include:

  • Set tables, trays according to type of food ordered and the hotels service standards.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures established for the department.
  • Accurately records, pre-checks and picks-up all food and beverage orders.
  • Check-in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
  • Responsible for cleaning and removing the trolleys/trays from guest rooms and corridor.
  • Present physical and accurate check to guest and complete the payment process.
  • Understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and also up sell alternatives.
  • Check with the guest regarding the satisfaction of the meal. 
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, chinaware, glassware, etc., throughout the day.
  • Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.
  • Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and always organized.
  • Ensure proper appearance and grooming while on duty.
  • Ensure communication between Kitchen, Order taker and service team members
  • Being knowledgeable to operate the hotels point of sales (POS) system, other order taking systems or hand held devices, inventory software etc.
  • Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.
  • Additional responsibilities in absence of line manager or senior employee.

 

Who are we looking for?

  • A proven track record and ability to provide high levels of service under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken.
  • An understanding and willingness to contribute to a 24h operational schedule when required.
  • At least 1 year experience in a luxury hospitality preferred.
