Job Description

Sofitel Wellington invites you to elevate your career as our Night Auditor, where precision meets luxury.

As the guardian of the Hotel’s overnight operation, you will ensure the smooth reconciliation of daily revenue and trading, while upholding the highest standards of guest satisfaction, safety, and security. With meticulous attention to detail, you will complete financial audits, prepare reports, and safeguard the integrity of our accounts.

Beyond numbers, you will also be the overnight host of Sofitel. Assisting with guest inquiries, handling requests with grace, and ensuring every experience remains seamless and magnifique. If you thrive on responsibility, accuracy, and hospitality, this role offers the perfect blend of finance and guest engagement within a five-star environment.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct accurate nightly audits and reconcile daily hotel revenue
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports, ensuring integrity of all accounts.
  • Safeguard the safety and security of the property overnight.
  • Oversee smooth operations during the night shift, supporting guest services as required.
  • Assist with housekeeping or room service requests during overnight hours.
  • Anticipate and resolve guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism.
  • Deliver exceptional service for VIP guests, ensuring personalized attention.
  • Handle escalated issues diplomatically, maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Uphold hotel standards, policies, and procedures at all times.

The successful candidate must be able to work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
Working hours: 11:00pm – 7:30am

This role is full-time permanent (40 hours per week)Remuneration: $27.68 per hour + Night Shift Allowance (Hours worked between 12am - 5am are paid at 1.25x the ordinary hourly rate)


Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Service-focused personality with a genuine passion for hospitality.
  • Ability to work independently overnight and remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand.
  • Immaculate grooming and personal presentation.

Desirable:

  • Previous hotel night audit or finance-related experience.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, systems, and guest service standards.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality or a five-star environment.
