Job Description

At ibis Wellington and Novotel Wellington, it’s our people who create unforgettable memories for our guests. We are looking for hospitality professionals to join our Night Teams, bringing enthusiasm, attention to detail and great service to ensure every stay is seamless.

We currently have two Night Auditor positions available, one based at ibis Wellington and one at Novotel Wellington. Flexibility to support and cover shifts across both hotels is an important part of the role.

Key Duties:

  • Work overnight shifts from 10:30pm/11.00pm – 7:00am/7.30am.
  • Welcome and assist late arrivals and early departures with smooth check-in/out.
  • Complete nightly balancing, system backups and reporting using Opera PMS.
  • Prepare and distribute Night Audit reports in line with finance and compliance standards.
  • Act as Night Manager when required, ensuring guest and team safety overnight.
  • Oversee night operations including room service, porter services, and security checks.
  • Manage room availability and handle any overbooking or relocation needs.
  • Ensure accuracy of reservations, billing, and room allocations.
  • Maintain clean and presentable public areas during the night.
  • Support the Front Office team by contributing to monthly performance reports.

There are two full time roles available working across a rotating 7 day roster, waged at $27.68 per hour PLUS night allowance.


Qualifications

  • Take initiative and remain calm under pressure.
  • Available to work overnight shifts from 11.00pm and on a rotating roster.
  • Hold an LCQ qualification.
  • A current GM Certificate is essential, or the ability to obtain one (requires LCQ plus 3 months’ supervisory experience in a licensed premises in NZ).
  • Previous experience in Front Office operations at a supervisory level.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Opera Cloud PMS (experience preferred).
  • A current First Aid Certificate is an advantage.
  • Novotel role only: A full, clean New Zealand driver licence and an up-to-date Manager’s Certificate are required.
  • Must be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a current valid work visa/permit. (Please note: visa support or sponsorship is not available for this role.)
