Job Description

The Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting the Director of Finance in the management, supervision and control of the hotel’s financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting, budgetary, tax and operational administration in compliance with internal policies, brand standards and applicable legal requirements.

This role is key to ensuring the accuracy of financial information, the effectiveness of internal controls, administrative efficiency and timely support to the hotel’s operational departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Finance in the daily supervision of the hotel’s financial, accounting and administrative operations.
  • Coordinate and follow up on accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, cost control, inventories, bank reconciliations and accounting closing processes.
  • Ensure that all financial records are accurate, timely and compliant with internal policies, corporate procedures and local regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation, review and analysis of financial statements, monthly reports, forecasts, annual budgets and any other reports requested by the Director of Finance.
  • Monitor budget deviations, identify key variances and support the preparation of analysis to assist decision-making.
  • Follow up on expense control, financial commitments, purchase orders, contracts, supplier payments and compliance with internal approval procedures.
  • Supervise the proper application of credit, collection, invoicing, deposits, general cashier and cash handling policies.
  • Support the review of daily revenues, night audit reports, revenue reports, sales reconciliations and validation of operational charges.
  • Coordinate with operational departments to ensure compliance with financial procedures, internal controls and sound administrative practices.
  • Follow up on inventory control, physical counts, valuation, adjustments, discrepancies and reports related to stores, food, beverage and hotel assets.
  • Support internal, external, tax and corporate audits, ensuring proper preparation of documentation and required supporting evidence.
  • Monitor compliance with tax, accounting and regulatory obligations in coordination with external advisors, corporate teams and the Director of Finance.
  • Contribute to maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard the hotel’s assets and minimize financial, operational and compliance risks.
  • Review and validate processes related to payroll, accruals, benefits, interdepartmental charges and related accounting records.
  • Support the administration of contracts, licenses, insurance, financial documentation and departmental files.
  • Guide and support the Finance team in their daily responsibilities, promoting accuracy, organization, timely execution and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with department heads to provide clear, timely and useful financial information to support the management of their areas.
  • Participate in operational meetings, financial reviews, internal committees and results presentations as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reports and financial tools that contribute to the hotel’s efficiency.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the hotel’s financial, commercial, contractual and strategic information.
  • Represent Hyde’s values and culture through a professional, collaborative, analytical and results-oriented approach.
  • Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Finance or Accounting, preferably within hotel, hospitality, lifestyle or upscale brand environments.
  • Solid knowledge of hotel finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, cost control, reconciliations, month-end closing and financial reporting.
  • Understanding of local accounting standards, tax regulations, compliance requirements and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to interpret financial information to support business decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with department heads and support operational teams with financial guidance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with hotel and finance systems such as Opera, SunSystems, Micros, POS or similar platforms is preferred.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial and business information.
  • Ability to lead, support and develop Finance team members.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English and Spanish.
